Pennsylvania Youth Theatre celebrates the happiest season of all with its very own musical Holiday Spectacular!  When little Emma gets separated from her foster family at the mall on Christmas Eve, she gets whisked away on a journey across the globe to find the true spirit of the holiday season.  Guided by a mysterious angel and a jolly old man who looks an awful lot like Saint Nick, Emma travels far and wide, (and even back in time!), to discover holiday traditions from around the world.  Magical musical sequences include the journey of The Three Magi, a trip to Toyland, a family Hanukkah celebration, the filming of a television special and a retelling of Charles Dickens' classic Christmas tale "A Cricket On the Hearth".  As midnight approaches, Emma must return to her parents at the mall--but with Santa in charge, all roads lead back to joy, love and peace on Earth in Christmas City’s Holiday Spectacular!

This timeless children's tale comes to life with a colorful array of characters. A young boy, James, receives a stuffed rabbit as a Christmas gift. Initially snubbed by the other toys and ignored by James, the rabbit lies untouched, unloved and unanimated by James' imagination. But slowly he becomes James’ loyal companion; coming gloriously alive as together they trek through the wilderness in snow storms, eat marshmallows by a camp fire and have pillow fights. When James becomes gravely ill, the Velveteen rabbit gives him pure love, and the boy is healed. In return for his bravery, the Magic Nursery Fairy grants the Velveteen Rabbit life! This show celebrates the power of everyone’s imagination!

The first and most famous story of The Chronicles of Narnia has become a musical presentation of this unique, enchanted world filled with creatures and spirits of myth and fable, both good and evil, demonic and transcendent. The principal inhabitants, however, are the intelligent talking animals ruled by the majestic KingAslan, the great lion of Narnia. Though Aslan is often absent from the land (so that his very existence is doubted by some), he returns when the need for him is greatest. And entering Narnia at a moment of high adventure are some children—plucked from our world in unexpected ways to help Narnia and to learn from their Narnia odyssey lessons of courage, unselfishness and wisdom that will help them grow. Narnia wants to sing, and from the excitement of the opening song, "Aslan's on the Move," to the joy of "Narnia (You Can't Imagine)," your spirits will soar with all those in Narnia.
